HOUSE!!!

Contrary to previous statements about not looking for house anymore. Joel and I made one last ditch effort and went to see 4 houses one night. Including the one that Joel just made a deposit on!!

It’s adorable and in the village and 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths and is on .5 acres and is awesome and great and YAY HOUSE!

I’ll post pictures once we have more access to it. The previous owner still lives there, so I can’t run around willy-nilly taking pictures of her house, she probably wouldn’t approve.

House-hunting is an emotional roller coaster

I was in love with a house that I met on the internetz… but it was taken away from me before we could meet IRL. It made me sad.

Then we went to look at a house that I thought looked kinda crap on the internetz, but in person I could see it really working for us. 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a small deck, a pool, a relatively large yard (narrow yard, but long for in the village), it was built in 1932 but has recently had a lot of work done on it and it is only $125,000. Joel needs to go and talk to some mortgage people to figure out the financial bit, and his brother wants to do a walk-through, but I think it could really work. Joel does not seem to be as sold on it as I am, but for the price-range that we are looking for, I think it’s a great deal… so now I just have to wait for him to talk to the mortgage-y people and take his brother to see it and whatnot.

The longer we wait, the more I worry that someone else is going to jump on it and we’ll be screwed. *sigh*

So much to do, so little will to do it.

Hi blog-reading-type people…

So, yeah, I hate how I was all about working out for *drumroll please* one day. I worked out today as well, but only did 15 minutes, and didn’t work out at all Friday, Saturday or Sunday… Bad Suzi, Bad! I’m going to try to do 15 minutes a day and then build up to the WW suggested 30 minutes a day because that is just crazy talk. Although I did enjoy my hour and 15 minute walk at the Rec Center on Thursday… so I may need to recreate that at some point.

In other news, I suck at WW yet again… I ate just my points for 2 days… and then the weekend was like “Wassup?!” and I was like “Hot dogs and beer and chicken fingers and Indian food? Why thank you! Points? What are those?” Gah. Trying to get back on the wagon today because I’m going to my weigh-in on Thursday whether I’ve lost or not, because I haven’t gone in 3 weeks and what’s the point of paying for a monthly pass if you only go once a month? Huh? Huh? Nothing. *sigh*

Other things I’m failing at right now: Giving a shit about either of my classes. Yes, one of my classes is my capstone (or thesis) and I’ve been all like “Wah, I don’t have any data” and now I have piles upon piles of data and I’m doing… NOTHING with it. *sigh* I’m considering going to Java’s tonight and comandeering a table and some coffee and getting some work done… or FVC instead because it’s closer and more conducive to working. Ooo, I could go to my meeting at 4, then go to the Rec Center and walk and then go to FVC and do work! Oooo, how exciting. Orrrr go to my meeting at 4, then go to FVC and do work, and then go to the Rec Center and walk! Ooo, also exciting! Although, best laid plans and all that…

Things I need to do (this week):

-Read 2 articles, write a reflection about them and send it to my professor (for tomorrow).

-Work on a Professional Development on the topic of “Boys and Books” for tomorrow.

-Read 57 questionnaires and blogs and stuff and come up with 3 themes/findings.

-Type up 3 themes/findings and send them to my critical partner(s).

-After getting feedback from my critical partner(s), revise themes and send them to my professor.

-Work on the Methods section of my capstone.

-Create a concept map based on my three themes, revise them again.

-Clean my room and do laundry (laundry is about 3 weeks overdue– luckily I have more clothes than anyone in the universe)

-Actually deposit some money in our “money for our wedding/honeymoon” account.

-Print pictures of Final Exam arrangements for Penn Foster Floral Design thing.

-Send final exam for Penn Foster Floral Design thing to Penn Foster.

-Work out for at least 15 minutes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

-Figure out a way to get Joel an anniversary present without actually spending any money.

Working out like it’s my job.

So, the past 2 weeks, I’ve been the worst WW member ever. I haven’t gone to my meetings, I haven’t follow the plan, I’ve been eating whatever the fuck I want, whenever the fuck I want… and I gained weight. Wow, quel suprise!

So, today I’m back on program. I ate the number of points I’m allowed AND I worked out… TWICE!

I bought a new thing for the Wii called Wii Fitness Coach which takes your information about yourself and how you are feeling about working out that day and whatever and gives you a personalized work out routine for the day… which changes every day and is pretty nifty. Other than the fact that it requires push-ups, which I’ve never been able to do, it’s awesome and I did a 30 minute work out which was hard, but not so hard that I cried/didn’t want to do anything.

Then Joel was like “We should go walk at the Rec Center” and I was like “Mmkay” and I walked around the track for an hour and 15 minutes! Woohoo! And it was kind of fun and having my iPod blaring in my ears so loud I couldn’t think helped to calm me down because I’ve been panicking about things recently.

So yay for working out and I’m considering doing both of those activities tomorrow, if I’m not too sore. LoL.

I do need to look into finding a knee brace of some description because my right knee hurts, but other than that, yay.

Hopefully I can keep this up! :-)

A great birthday celebration!

So, my birthday isn’t until Tuesday, but on the 8th (Sunday), we went to Casa Larga for wine tasting and other various wine related things– including a tour with a killer bird and a Dalek attack (Erica’s new text message noise is a Dalek saying “Exterminate!” and it went off in the middle of the tour in a kinda dark basement room of the vineyard… and Susan D, Erica, and I were laughing hysterically… apparently I was trying so hard to hold the laughter in that I turned about 6 shades of red and also purple. LoL. It was a great time.

Then we went to dinner at the India House (Joel, My Dad, Iain, Susan D, Sisan, Erica, Brian Wong, Brittany, Dave, Christina and I) and thorougly enjoyed good food and the best server in the world and much hilarity ensued there as well. Brian Wong, Christina and Erica had to leave after dinner for work related purposes, which was lame, but understandable and I love them dearly and am so glad they came to dinner, etc.

Afterwards, some of us (Joel, Sisan, Iain and Susan D, Brittany and Dave) went back to my house for a rousing game of Apples to Apples and presents and cookie cake!! Iain and Susan got me an expansion for Arkham Horror which I cannot WAIT to play, Christina got me socks and a gift card for Old Navy, and Sisan got me an epic collection of things for the summer– a great bag with a huge orange flower on it and an orange inside, adorable sunglasses, a playable Candyland towel, and  trashy vampire romance novel!! It really put me in a summer-y mood, which I totally needed with all the snow and whatnot. It was of course amazingly fun and then Joel needed to go home because he has a cold, poor fiance-face and that sort of triggered everyone else to go home (lame), except for Sisan who was trapped there at my mercy! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sisan and I then proceeded to talk until about 2:30 in the morning, stopping every hour or so to say that I should probably take her home soon. Oops. It was so much fun and was definitely much needed girl-talk time. I’m so glad that everyone could come out and celebrate my birthday, especially Sisan because it got her out of her house and she suffered through foot pain/pain killer times being off/maybe making her mom mad (she stayed up until I brought Sisan home) to spend time with me on my birthday and it was freaking awesome.

It was an epic birthday and I am grateful for the awesome people in my life that I got to share it with. :-D

Ceremoniously…

Okay, I really need to stop having bad puns as my blog post titles…

Anyway, Joel and I are going to be getting married at the Church of the Resurrection in Fairport, NY. Woot woot. This is the church that Joel has been going to for his entire life, so even though he was like “I don’t care where we have it”, I think it should make him happy. AND we found out that Non-Catholics can get married there. *does a happy dance* Although we have to take pre-marital counseling classes, which is kind of scary and intimidating… but Joel has to talk to Sister Joan to find out when we’d need to arrange those for. So, YAY Ceremony site! :-D

In other, also exciting, news, I lost 2.6 pounds this week at Weight Watchers, after not going to meetings or following the program for 4 weeks!!! So I’ve FINALLY lost 20 pounds!!! well, 20.5 if we’re being technical… but YAY!!!! 20 pounds has been one of my major goals and has been looming evilly just out of reach for a while, so now I feel all successful and stuff!! Once my plague goes away, I will be going to the Perinton Rec Center to work out, to facilitate the weight loss process.

So, YAY Ceremony site and YAY weight loss!!! :-D

Not calling it a resolution..

because then I’ll break it. LoL.

But I am going back to Weight Watchers tonight and I plan on actually sticking to it and not cheating and actually losing weight. My cousin and my aunt have each lost over 60 pound on WW, so now I have proof that it works. Yes, I’ve heard about other people’s success stories, but it’s never been someone close to me, so that makes it more real. I am also planning on joining the Perinton Rec Center which is $24 a month if you are a student which includes a track, work out room, and swimming pool. Woot. So that should help. My fiance is considering joining as well because he is not particularly happy with the little bit of a tummy that he has.

Still don’t have an exact date for the wedding, although 5/15/2010 seems to be in the forefront… I don’t want to officially choose the date until we know if we have a reception place/ceremony site, which we can’t figure out until we have guest list estimate which I can’t get Joel to work on. I may just assume 150-200 people and start looking at locations more seriously… lalala, still excited to be engaged. Whenever I start feeling upset or unhappy about anything (including non-wedding related things), I can interrupt it with “We’re engaged!!!” and instantly feel better. :-D

It’s kinda funny because I feel like Joel and I have gotten even more lovey-dovey (if that’s possible). I don’t know how that is, but it’s definitely nice. I love my fiance!! (not that I didn’t before, I just felt like reiterating that)

A week until my ring is finished getting resized!!!! Woot Woot!!

An engaging post…

Joel and I are engaged now!!! In half an hour, it’ll have been an entire day! :-)

I was cleaning my house for the party yesterday and I was stressed out and cranky and I needed to go pick Joel up from his apartment. He told me to come up when I got there, because he needed help carrying some stuff…

When I walked in, he was sitting on the couch, with a bunch of gerbera daisies and limonium on the table! (probably some of my favourite flowers)… and we sat there for a bit just hugging and being all snuggly and he handed me a poem and told me to read it out loud… I was too embarrassed to read it out loud, so I read it to myself. Here’s the poem:

Suzi is the girl for me
I just wish that you could see
Love I feel will always be
You are the love that sets me free

Be it shining outside or raining
With you I won’t be complaining
Me, I’ll smile with you anyway
Forever loving you, day after day

I love the way you smile
Love the way you’ll stay a while
You joke around so easily
So I hope that you’ll bear with me

Will you forgive a simple jest
You always laughed at all the rest
Merry little game by a nerd
Me? I’d read each first word.

And yes, it says merry not marry, but it’s a bad pun and that’s awesome and so us.

I of course said yes… and that I would also Pippin him. :-)

He then told me that he didn’t have a ring because he looked online and at a couple places and just couldn’t find anything sufficiently “Suzi”, so we went ring shopping today!! We found a gooooooorgeous ring that was in the price range and very me. Click here to see it on the website. They have to resize it and stuff, so it won’t be ready until January 15th, but until then, I’m wearing my Claddagh ring as a “placeholder”.

The wedding is probably going to be in May 2010, perhaps the 15th… but that’s not set in stone yet. We need to figure out a venue and all that jazz first!!! :-D

SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!
