I kissed the Blarney Stone the day before yesterday! Hung upside down (with the help of a nice wee Irish man who had the job of holding people/shoving them closer to the stone when they’re scared) after going up the scariest stone spiral staircase I’ve ever been in ever… and I’ve been in some scary mfing spiral staircases. It was really awesome to do something that I’d heard about for a long long long long long long time.
Also, when reading up on the history of the Blarney Stone, I found out that one of the rumours of what it is, is part of the Stone of Scone or the Stone of Destiny, on which the Kings of Scotland sit to be crowned… so that made it even more imperative for me to kiss it as I always feel this ridiculous amount of power from the Stone of Scone when we go and see it in Edinburgh Castle. Luckily, we had a nice day to kiss the Blarney Stone because I feel that if we had to hang upside down in the rain it would not have been pleasant (rain up the nose, slippery handrails, etc). So, this is completely out of order of what we did, because that was the day before yesterday and we’ve been here since Sunday…
