So, I had a preliminary interview at Fairport today. And I didn’t panic… there were a few moments where my mind would go blank and a couple questions where I had to honestly answer that “no, I haven’t heard of Response To Intervention” and whatever… I also said “lame”, “whatever”, and other things that I probably shouldn’t say in an interview while trying to sound professional.
But, I was actually relaxed and not freaking out, which is a big improvement, especially since a teaching job at Fairport is pretty much my dream job/life goal… well, at this point, any English teaching job would be my dream job/life goal. She said that there probably will not be any English openings next year unless someone gets pregnant and goes on maternity leave or something, but if my interivew went as well as I thought it would, and the phone calls to my references go well, then I will be on the teacher candidate list (woohoo!) and then they would call me for a building level interview (with principal, teachers, and parent/student representatives) and then if that went well, I’d go and model a lesson for them, and then if that went well, I’d get a job. Woo!
But yeah, it was nice to have an interview where I wasn’t panicking like mad whoa. *smiles*
