Does this post still count as Valentine’s Day?
I kinda hope so, if not, I missed a day… oops.
Valentine’s Day was quite nice this year, considering I didn’t have to work in FLORAL!!!!!!!!! Oh my god, such a relief. No customer-caused panic attacks for meeeeeeeeee.
I had lunch with Erica at Donnelly’s which was nice and reminded me how much I love Donnelly’s, and also Erica because she’s pretty much one of the most awesome people in the universe and there is no denying that. Although I probably shouldn’t have had that beer AND the alcoholic coffee right before going to class, but that’s okay.
Class was interesting tonight, mostly because I wasn’t keeping my snarky comments to myself, but a little bit of the alky can do that to me, even though I wasn’t feeling it… it was definitely present because I could not get myself to shut up. I even made fun of my prof a bit. :-X BUT he had made fun of me earlier in the night, so it’s okay. That class has such a weird dynamic because sometimes the prof is a hard ass and then the next minute he’s making bad jokes and being all jovial. I think it’s Multiple Personality Disorder… for example, he was ranting about people not showing up and bad attendance (his policy is if you miss a class, you won’t pass… that wasn’t supposed to rhyme, but we’ll run with it). Yet if you have a reasonable… reason for not being there, he’s like “Oh, it’s fine, don’t worry about it, I’m a nice guy…” and it’s kinda scary because you never know if you should be joking around with him or perfectly serious and nice to him… he’s a very hard to read guy. But yeah, I kept making snide comments all class, not about him per se, but just in general. OH! And next week we get to go to the Rochester Museum and Science Center which is far too exciting to me because I kinda heart it! Especially running around and playing with all the stuff… but I think we are going more of “This is what you can bring your students to” than a “hey, let’s have fun!” so that kind of saddens me.
Anyway, after class, I came home and finished burning Joel’s CDs. (I made him copies of all of my Paul and Storm, Jonathan Coulton, and Da Vinci’s Notebook music {If you have not listened to these people, you need to}). Then he came over and cooked me dinner! And he was dressed up in a red button down shirt, tie, dress pants (that hug his rear quite nicely), a suit coat and his trench coat, it pretty much took all of my control not to jump him when he walked in the door. Then again, I thought I looked pretty darn cute today myself, red longsleeve u-neck t-shirt from Old Navy, black/red/dark green/blue/yellow (but mostly black) plaid skirt from Torrid, black legging capris, and red patent pointy kitten-heeled shoes. I felt adorable, which doesn’t happen often, so that was exciting! But anyway, so Joel made dinner and we opened gifts, he got me a stuffed monkey and pony (the same as the two that he took apart to make Jo and Co, my 2 half-pony-half-monkey monsters {a reference to a Jonathan Coulton song} that I got for Christmas, so they look like distant relatives), and a beautiful silver necklace with 4 different patterned hearts on it. That boy knows how to buy things for me.
I got him The Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men in Tights on DVD and the aforementioned CDs. We watched a movie, played some Super Mario Galaxy, watched an episode of Torchwood, and then he had to go home because he has a meeting on campus at 9 am… which I guess is understandable that he had to leave, although it kinda sucks. But yeah, I love that boy soooo much.
And now I’m going to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Yay sleep.
