ZOMG, doggies!

Erica and I drove out to the Oswego area to look at two almost 1 year old smooth fox terriers to see if she wanted to adopt one of them. They are technically rescues because neither can compete in dog shows due to little things like slightly messed up ears (not perfect) and not the right kind of overbite that needs to be in a show smooth fox terrier. (RIDICULOUS! But good for us). We were introduced to Presto (a male) and Whisper (his sister). Presto didn’t seem to care that we existed and just frolicked around the kennel ignoring everything and everyone. He was a beautiful dog, but a bit too rambunctious to go in Erica’s apartment.

Whisper on the other hand was perfect. She was friendly, but not overly crazy. She’s a beautiful intelligent looking dog and she is a sweetheart. She is small for her breed, which is a small breed, so she is quite small, but she’s amazing. Erica and I fell in love with her immediately, so after the paperwork was all done, we took Whisper home… and for the entire 1 hour and 15 minute car ride, she sat calmly in my lap like nothing was going on. We went to Petsmart and bought various supplies for her majesty and decided to rename her “Charley Whisper Wall” (Wall being Erica’s last name). She’s settling in great and has had 4 walks today. One all the way to Java’s and back (a little less than a mile each way) and two around the block. So she’s not only getting plenty of exercise but so is her Momma and her Auntie Suz (I’m apparently her co-owner, without any of the financial obligation… I just have to donate my time, which I am happy to do because she is a wonderful pup.) I have recently realized that contrary to popular belief, I am, in fact, a dog person. Which is kind of scary to me. LoL.

So I’m now at Erica’s doggysitting and blogging about it. :-)
